Abstract

Sustainability and the reduction of operational costs are increasing needs for organizations, making it imperative to implement effective measures. This project aimed to reduce electricity consumption at the Barradas Medical Specialties Outpatient Clinic through the automatic shutdown of computers and password panels, a measure introduced in July 2022. The focus was on energy savings during periods of inactivity, such as weekends, holidays, and at night. This practice was necessary given the culture of keeping systems running 24/7, which became unnecessary with technological renewal. The project aimed for a 15% reduction in consumption by July 2024, which was far exceeded. In addition, awareness actions encouraged employees to turn off monitors when away, contributing to an energy-efficiency culture.
